Full Stack Developer Course Syllabus (2026)

The syllabus spans front end (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React), back end (Node/Express, APIs, auth), databases (MongoDB + SQL basics), version control, AI-assisted development & building AI features, testing/security, and DevOps/deployment — across 14 modules, beginner to advanced, reinforced with a real project in nearly every module. The front end — what users see and interact with — spans several modules, from fundamentals to advanced. You start with Web Foundations (module 1: HTML5, CSS3, responsive design with Flexbox & Grid, accessibility), move into Modern JavaScript (module 2: ES6+, the DOM, events, async/await, fetch), then Frontend with React (module 4: components, JSX, props, state, hooks, routing) and Advanced React & State (module 5: Context/Redux, React Query, forms, performance). Later, TypeScript & Next.js (module 11: typed React, SSR/SSG) rounds out a modern front-end skill set. You build a responsive site, an interactive JS app, a React app, a dashboard and a Next.js + TypeScript app.

The back end — the server logic that powers the app — is centred on Backend with Node.js & Express (module 6: REST APIs, routing, middleware, authentication with JWT), where you build a secured REST API. Authentication and full integration continue in Full Stack Integration & Auth (module 8: connecting front and back end, auth flows, file uploads, basic deploy), which completes the Basic track with a full MERN application. Because it’s a JavaScript back end (Node), you reuse your JavaScript skills on the server.

Data and the interfaces that move it are covered in Databases — MongoDB (module 7: MongoDB & Mongoose, CRUD, schema design, plus an introduction to SQL), where you build a database-backed API. APIs run throughout the back-end modules: you learn to design, build and secure REST APIs (module 6) and to connect them to the front end and database in the full MERN integration (module 8). The result is the ability to model data and build the APIs that tie an application together.

Professional practices are woven in. Version Control & Dev Tooling (module 3: Git, GitHub, branching & PRs, npm, terminal, debugging) comes early so you work like a real developer from the start. Testing, Security & Performance (module 12: testing fundamentals, web security/OWASP basics, performance) teaches reliable, secure, performant code. DevOps & Deployment (module 13: cloud deploy with Vercel/Render/AWS basics, CI/CD basics, environment management) gets your app live. You finish able to version, test, secure and deploy a full stack application to the cloud — skills employers specifically look for.

Two substantive modules make this a genuinely modern syllabus — and AI is taught honestly, not as a buzzword. AI-Assisted Development (module 9) covers using AI developer tools (Copilot, Cursor, ChatGPT, Claude) in your workflow, including prompting for developers and — importantly — when AI helps and when it doesn’t; you rebuild a feature using an AI-assisted workflow. Building AI Features (module 10) covers integrating LLM APIs, building chatbots, retrieval (RAG) basics and adding intelligence to apps; you build an AI-powered feature like a chatbot or smart search. Throughout, AI is framed as a co-pilot on top of fundamentals you actually understand — you still learn to code properly.
