Salary by experience (honest ranges)
Salary in performance marketing climbs steeply with proven results rather than years alone. The bands below are drawn from public 2026 aggregators and market reports; treat them as ranges that vary by city, company type and — above all — the campaigns you can show.
| Stage (experience) | Typical annual range | What you’re usually doing |
|---|---|---|
| Fresher / analyst (0–2 yrs) | ₹3–6 LPA | Running and reporting on campaigns, audience and keyword work, learning bidding and tracking under guidance. |
| Mid-level / specialist (3–5 yrs) | ₹6–13 LPA | Owning channels and budgets, optimising for CPA/ROAS, CRO, cross-channel strategy. |
| Senior / manager (5–9 yrs) | ₹15–25+ LPA | Owning P&L-linked targets, large ad budgets, team leadership and forecasting. |
| Lead / Head / VP (9+ yrs) | ₹40 LPA – ₹1 cr+ | Full growth strategy, budget allocation across teams, board-level accountability. |
Reading the table: the spread within each band is wide on purpose. A capable fresher with a live campaign portfolio can land at ₹5–6 LPA at a funded startup, while a generalist who never owned a number may sit at the bottom of the same band for years. The lever is demonstrated outcomes, not time served.
Salary by role (PPC, paid social, manager)
“Performance marketer” covers several roles that pay differently. Public aggregator data (AmbitionBox, Glassdoor, 6figr) for May–June 2026 points to the following indicative ranges — figures move with company, city and sample, so use them as a benchmark, not a quote.
| Role | Indicative annual range | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| PPC / Paid Search Analyst | ₹4–8 LPA | Google Ads focus — Search, Shopping, Performance Max; entry into performance. |
| Paid Social Specialist | ₹4–9 LPA | Meta (Advantage+), plus LinkedIn / YouTube; creative-and-data hybrid. |
| Performance Marketing Manager | ₹8–18 LPA (avg ~₹12–13 LPA) | Owns budgets and targets across Google + Meta; top percentile runs much higher. |
| Growth / Performance Lead | ₹20–40+ LPA | Full-funnel growth, multiple channels, team and budget ownership. |
On public data for May 2026, a Performance Marketing Manager averages in the low-to-mid ₹12 LPA region, with the top percentile reported well above ₹35 LPA. Single-percentile numbers make for good headlines but a weak plan — aim to land at the top of your band, not at someone else’s ceiling.
